Where can I try Romanian traditional food in Iași?
You can find traditional Romanian food at a lot of restaurants in Iasi but only a few specialize in romanian cuisine that will give you a genuine traditional experience. You should definitely stop by Casa Bolta Rece as it is not only a great restaurant, but also a piece of Iasi’s history. It is a landmark mainly because two of Romania’s most renowned writers used to dine in this exact location- Mihai Eminescu and Ion Creanga. Apart from this special place, we recommend Cârciuma Veche and La Conac. You should try “sarmale” with polenta and “papanași” in any of these traditional restaurants!
